Stability of sulphacetamide eye drops at higher temperature.
نویسنده
چکیده
Suiphacetamide solutions at higher temperature degrade to its hydrolysed product, sulphanilamide, with a first-order rate constant. The degraded products are identified and characterised by chromatography and spectrophotometry. Attempts are made for the evaluation of kinetics, entropy and enthal changes activation energy and frequency factors during heating of sulphacetamide solutions. The determination of these thermodynamic elements is useful in prediction of the stability of suiphacetamide eye-drop formulation at elevated temperatures (JPMA 33: 168, 1983).

Stability of ceftazidime in 1% and 5% buffered eye drops determined with HPLC method.
The aim of the studies was to determine with HPLC method the stability of ceftazidime in buffered 1% and 5% eye drops of proposed formulary composition, which were stored for 30 days at the temperature of 4 degrees C and 20 degrees C and protected from light. The 1% and 5% eye drops were prepared under aseptic conditions by dissolving Biotum (ceftazidimum), dry injection formulation, in citrate...

OBJECTIVE Assessing the stability of cefazolin sodium in preservative-free and preservative-containing eye drops. METHOD Extemporaneous formulations of eye drops were prepared from a commercially-available parenteral product of cefazolin sodium: eye drops 'A' contained 50mg/ml of cefazolin sodium in 0.45% w/v sodium chloride solution, and eye drops 'B' contained 50 mg/ml, 0.005% w/v thiomersa...
متن کاملInfluence of additives and storage temperature on physicochemical and microbiological properties of eye drops containing cefazolin.
The purpose of the studies was to choose additives for eye drops containing cefazolin and the assessment of the influence of used additives and the storage temperature on the physicochemical properties and the stability of the eye drops. The drops were 1% sterile solutions of cefazolin in citrate buffer of pH 6.15-6.20. The drops were preserved with 0.002% thiomersal or 0.001% phenylmercuric bo...
متن کاملStability of cefuroxime in 1% and 5% buffered eye drops determined with HPLC method.
The aim of the studies was to develop formulary technologies of 1% and 5% eye drops containing cefuroxime with stability of at least 10-12 days. The stability was defined as the time required to reach the cutoff value of 10% degradation of cefuroxime in the drops, as determined using an HPLC assay. The drops should have such properties as optical clarity, pH in the range of 3.5 to 8.5 and osmot...

Correspondence MEDIALJOUH How much easier it would be if platelet stickiness were expressed as the percentage of sticky platelets rather than as the percentage of non-sticky platelets, and how much more logical. That is: Platelet stickiness (%)= (Original Count minus Second Count) x 100 Original Count With this simple transformation a high value would indicate a high degree of sticki-ness, and ...
